I knew I wanted to start eating healthier, but I wasn’t quite sure what I should do first. I knew I had to eat more vegetables, but that was really all I knew. I decided to take the time to go out and learn what actions I needed to take, so that I could be a healthier person through my diet.
The first thing I did was buy a kenwood food mixer and a good blender. I knew I would be making smoothies and mixing food together to make healthy snacks. Luckily there were a lot of recipes out there that helped me to get an idea of what I needed to buy. After trial and error, I started making some healthy delicious food.
I also decided to go to my doctor to find out if I had any vitamin deficiencies. He gave me a script for some blood work, so that I could make sure that my body was getting enough of what it needed. I didn’t have any deficiences, but if I did, I’d have to change my eating habits slightly.
I changed my eating habits anyway, and I made sure I didn’t have any junk food in my house. To be honest, getting rid of the junk food did a lot to help me on my healthy eating journey. Because it wasn’t in the house, I wasn’t motivated to eat it. I was able to steer clear of the food that was bad for me, as long as I didn’t buy it. At work, I had to make sure that I took my lunch along. The days I didn’t bring my lunch were my cheat days.
I’m so happy I decided to eat better. I have lost about 6 pounds and I feel much more alert as well.
